Our dementia support will recognise each person's identity, history, relationships and remaining abilities.
We will aim to provide:
- Familiar routines and consistent carers wherever possible.
- Calm, respectful communication at the person's pace.
- Sensitive support with personal care, eating and drinking.
- Meaningful activities based on personal interests.
- Reassurance when a person feels confused, anxious or distressed.
- Awareness of changes that may indicate pain, illness or unmet needs.
- Partnership with families and representatives, respecting consent and legal authority.
Our approach will promote dignity, choice and independence while responding to changing needs.
